The Luna Wines 2023 Chardonnay is a beautifully crafted expression of this beloved variety, showcasing vibrant fruit and nuanced complexity. Clones B95, B96, and I10V1 were hand-picked and whole bunch pressed to French oak, where the wine was left on full solids to undergo wild fermentation. During winter, the wine was kept un-sulphured to develop depth and palate weight, before being racked, lightly fined, and bottled the following spring, unfiltered to preserve its purity.
Luna Wines was born out of a desire to produce modern, single vineyard Tasmanian wines. These premium wines are truly handcrafted and reflect the pristine and unique Tamar Valley terroir, influenced by the season in which they were grown. Their close-planted vineyard, established at Rosevears in 2001, features naturally low-yielding vines grown with minimal chemical inputs, ensuring exceptional quality and expression.
