Introducing Wolf of the Willows West Coast IPA, a bold homage to the classic US West Coast style that has captured the spirit of hop lovers since its inception. With a vibrant burst of resinous, tropical hops, a solid malt backbone, and a firm bitterness, this IPA offers a true balance between hop character and drinkability. Perfect for those who want to indulge in a big, refreshing beer that steps up the flavour game.

Key Information and Highlights:

  • Brewery: Wolf of the Willows (Melbourne, Australia)
  • Style: West Coast IPA
  • ABV: 6.0%
  • Standard Drinks: 1.8 (Approx)
  • Volume: 355ml Can
  • IBU: 53
  • Origin: Australian Craft Beer, Inspired by US West Coast Classics

Flavour Profile:

  • Appearance: Bright, golden in colour with a slightly hazy finish and a resilient, frothy head, hinting at its bold hop presence.
  • Aroma: Expect an intense aroma of citrus, pine, and tropical fruits from the generous use of Citra, Simcoe, Vic Secret, and Strata hops, complemented by a touch of malt sweetness.
  • Taste: This Wolf of the Willows West Coast IPA delivers a punch of resinous hops and tropical fruit flavours, balanced by a sturdy malt backbone of ale malt, crystal malt, and wheat for excellent head retention and lacing. The finish is smooth yet firm, with a lingering bitterness that keeps you coming back for more.

Food Pairings:

Easy: Juicy burgers or buffalo wings — perfect for matching intense flavours.
Medium: A light southern Indian curry with coconut milk, aromatic curry leaves, and earthy cumin — a balanced, flavorful pairing.
Harder: Think Maillard Reaction — foods like roasted chicken, crusty sourdough, or a seared steak. The malty undertones of the beer enhance the browned, caramelized flavours of these dishes, creating harmony on the palate.

Conclusion:

Whether you're unwinding after a day on the slopes or craving a bold, hoppy beer to elevate your gathering, Wolf of the Willows West Coast IPA is a true reflection of our love for American-style IPAs. Its balanced bitterness, tropical hop aroma, and malt support make it an indulgent yet refreshingly 'big' brew. Grab a can, sit back, and enjoy the taste of the West Coast, right here in Australia. Cheers!
