Producer Background:
Wolfe at the Door is dedicated to producing high-quality, artisan wines that reflect the unique terroir and climate of Tasmania. With an emphasis on sustainable practices and minimal intervention winemaking, the winery aims to allow the natural characteristics of the grapes to shine through in each bottle.

Vintage Notes:
The 2024 vintage benefited from ideal weather conditions, with a warm growing season that allowed for even ripening of the Pinot Meunier grapes while retaining their natural acidity. This balance contributes to the wine’s vibrant character and freshness.

Vineyard Notes:
The Tamar Valley features a cool maritime climate and diverse soil types, providing optimal conditions for growing Pinot Meunier. The region’s unique terroir plays a vital role in the development of complex flavours, making it an exciting choice for wine lovers.

Winemaking Notes:
After careful hand harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and undergo fermentation in open-top fermenters, often using wild yeasts to enhance the wine’s natural expression. This Pinot Meunier typically undergoes a period of maturation in French oak barrels, adding depth and complexity while maintaining the varietal's freshness.

Flavour Profile:

  • Appearance: Bright ruby red with a clear, inviting hue.
  • Nose: Aromas of red berries such as cherry, raspberry, and plum, along with floral notes and subtle spice, creating a complex and enticing bouquet.
  • Palate: Medium-bodied with soft tannins, featuring flavours of juicy red fruits, hints of earthiness, and a vibrant acidity that leads to a smooth, lingering finish.
