Derwent Distilling Co Last Sanctuary Gin
Size: 700ml
Spirit: Australian Gin
APV: 45%
Origin: Dromedary, TAS
From the Distillery:
Last Sanctuary Organic Gin is a truly environmentally conscious gin, packaged using recycled glass and paper and 100% plastic free.
Last Sanctuary is distilled using 14 botanicals including wild foraged native botanicals. Botanicals like Fragrant Paperbark and Coastal Tea Tree which are hand picked by us from the river bank at the distillery.
We named our gin Last Sanctuary because the Derwent Estuary/River, on which our distillery is built, is one of the last sanctuaries for 3 Handfish species. To help with the conservation of these unique animals we are proud to donate a portion of sales from Last Sanctuary Gin to the Handfish Conservation Project. The Handfish Conservation Project was established in 2018 to implement a recovery plan for three critically endangered species of handfish; Red Handfish, Spotted Handfish and Ziebell’s Handfish.
We’d also like to recognise local mural artist Melski McVee for her wonderful artwork which we used in our label design.
A refreshing Australian Dry Gin, with a wonderfully aromatic and fresh nose and substantial juniper notes, accompanied with a balance of herbaceous and citrus characters. Finishing with a hint of the ocean.
A versatile gin suitable to be drunk neat, with soda or with a dry tonic. We recommend finishing your drink with a sprig of rosemary or classic lemon.
