2023 Release

One of our most limited production items, Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye continues the legacy of America’s first whiskey variety (rye) from America’s first whiskey company (Michter’s, originally known as Shenk’s). After a nearly three year absence from the market, Michter’s then Master Distiller Willie Pratt finally gave the green light for the re-release of Michter’s 10 Year Straight Rye in April 2014.

Tasting Notes:

Deep notes of vanilla and toffee, toasted almonds and cinnamon with an ample dose of crushed pepper and a hint of orange citrus.

"Packing all of the qualities that make an excellent tasting rye, Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel Rye should rightfully be called the king of rye whiskeys." - Breaking Bourbon (2023 Release)

"Sweet and herbal aromas of dill, pear, golden apple, cinnamon, and clove fill the nose. The palate is well structured with more toasty and spicy notes mixing with earthy green tea and bittersweet chocolate, along with a honeyed sweetness. The fruitiness present in the nose comes in at the back palate, adding an extra cushion to push the sweetness and spice through into the finish without excessive heat. This is a less dense and spicy rye, with fruit and green herbs stealing more of the spotlight for a cleaner balance." - Amanda Schuster, Distiller (95 Points)
