Created in honor of the wedding on January 8, 1920 in Glasdow of the founder of Nikka Masataka Taketsuru with Jessie Roberta Cowen, better known as Rita, Miyagikyo Apple Brandy Wood Finish is a limited edition of the single malt from the Miyagikyo distillery.
Nikka Miyagikyo Apple Brandy Wood Finish 2020 Edition is the signature Miyagikyo Single Malt aged in ex-Sherry casks. Then it’s finished in barrels that were used to mature their in-house Apple Brandy. During the early days of operation, it was the Apple juice, jams, and Brandies that kept the business afloat, making these drams a very tasty romantic gesture indeed.
By aging the single malt Miyagikyo, with a gorgeous and light flavor of apple brandy barrels that combines fresh sweetness with soft astringency. Light woody barrel aroma notes and freshness of fresh apples combined with a sweet and sour taste are reminiscent of fruit cakes.

Tasting Notes:
Colour: Golden Amber.
Aroma: The aroma is decidedly crisp and sweet with notes of apple, alongside the signature floral and pepper notes of the core offering.
Palate: The palate is creamy and soft on the tongue with more florals, vanilla, toasted wood, honey, a dash of cinnamon, and a hint of green tea tannins.
Finish: The finish is medium-length with a lingering cider and tea note.
