About Us

We operate two distinguished businesses in the alcohol industry: Miners Gold Brewery and Innes Distillery.

Innes Distillery, located on the stunning West Coast of Tasmania, specialises in a diverse range of liqueurs, vodkas, gins, and whiskies, with our first batch of rum on the horizon.

Miners Gold Brewery is situated in Beaconsfield, near the picturesque Tamar River. The brewery offers a core range of Miners Gold products and features a brand called Ocho, which produces both a staple selection and exciting limited-release cans.

Together, our brands embody a commitment to quality and innovation in every sip.

Ghost in the Staves by Ocho Beer

24 x 375mL cans - gross weight 9.6kg

Brewed by Miners Gold Brewery, Beaconsfield TAS.

Last October we milled over half a tonne of malt and crammed it into our mash tun at the beginning of what would be a very long (but rewarding) brew day! The result was a concentrated, jet black liquor which we fermented in stainless for 3-4 weeks before racking into 3 x 300L French oak hogsheads (the very same barrels we'd just emptied Old Dreadful out of). After about 7 months' ageing in oak, we racked it back into stainless for packaging.

We are incredibly happy with the result. A terrifyingly rich and roasty stout which we encourage you to enjoy in front of an open fire this Winter!

Tasting Notes:

aroma= dark chocolate covered cherries, a hint of coconut from the oak.

flavour= rich chocolate mud cake, smooth, blackcurrant fruitiness, hints of cocoa liqueur, vanilla, coconut, and a nice drying finish from the oak.

Ingredients:

Malt: pale malt, Pils malt, chit malt, chocolate malt, roast barley, crystal malt

Hops: Columbus

Yeast: American Ale

Barrels: French oak hogsheads (300L) for 7 months.
