Only 1,500 Bottles Produced

The third in the series of special limited-edition releases of Lagavulin for the annual Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival held each September with concerts in the Malt Mill at Lagavulin distillery and other venues across the island.

The liquid was lain to rest in Sherry Butt casks, before being bottled at a natural cask strength of 51.9%.

The 2013 bottling comprised of 1,500 individually numbered bottles drawn from sherry butts filled on 19 January 1995. Bottles were only available to personal visitors at the Lagavulin distillery with a limit of two bottles per customer.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Smooth, with strong notes of medicinal peat. Something sweeter is also present, the sherry and citrus fruits. Slight hint of grassland.

Palate: Mouth-coating and surprisingly sweet, the signature peat smoke is ever present with a kick of spice, black pepper and nutmeg.

Finish: Long, the peat smoke lingers like the last burning embers of a campfire.
