The 2016 Lagavulin Jazz release is the annual special edition offering from the distillery in honor of the Islay Jazz Festival. This years' edition is also celebrating the distillery's 200th year anniversary.

Following from the 2015 release this also doesn't carry an age statement and has been matured in refill American oak and first-fill ex-bourbon casks.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Holds heady notes of vanilla, banana and gentle oak notes, followed by a gentle peat smoke and lemon zest.

Palate: Opens with notes of oak and peat smoke, and is followed by a salty maritime element.

Finish: Long and lingering, with sweet notes of banana and plenty of peat smoke.

"Let’s talk jazz, I’m totally in love with Kamasi Washington’s latest album. I know he’s big and that smaller players could be just as good if not better, but there, I just love it, can’t help it. It’s the same with this little Lagavulin." - Serge, Whisky Fun (90 Points)
