Boldly innovative with novel finishing techniques, our Straight Rye Whiskey is aged up to 7 years before being finished for up to 12 months in French Oak Extra Añejo barrels. The final touch—a blend with an 11-year-old rye—resulting in a refined, rich whiskey full of exceptional depth and new discoveries.
Inspired by tequila’s distinct production process, our Master Distiller set out to innovate beyond fortified wine and explore barrels from a new continent and spirit category. What he discovered was an extraordinary find—Patrón French Oak Extra Añejo Tequila barrels that had held agave distillate for four years. Exceedingly rare for both their French Oak construction and extended aging, these barrels lend a rich, spiced finish to our Straight Rye Whiskey.
A true collector’s piece, this sleek glass bottle features refined grooves, foil accents, and an etched cork, all housed in an elegant green and gold box. Embellished with the symbol of the agave, the packaging honors the rare fusion of rye and tequila, with inscriptions detailing the whiskey’s meticulous finishing process and layered complexity.
Tasting Notes:
The bold spice of rye, the depth of French oak, and the nuance of tequila barrels unite in a balanced, elegantly-layered profile.
Nose: Floral and fruit-forward. Toasty vanilla, with a subtle clove smokiness.
Palate: Baking spices and cracked pepper, tempered by herbal agave syrup. Earthy tobacco and brown sugar.
Finish: Soft and balanced, with orange blossom honey, tropical fruits, and a French oak finish.
"The palate has all this and more. Again very race, here we find the tequila starting to make a more significant impact, complementing the rye grain well. The collected flavors are complex: Fresh herbs, lots of black pepper, and jalapeno, then soothing notes of brown butter, pastry cream, and vanilla pudding. The raciness endures, leading to a finish that recalls Mexican chocolate in a way I can’t recall getting out of other whiskey.
