Ballantine's Christmas Reserve is a limited-edition Scotch whisky crafted to capture the essence of the festive season. Master Blender Sandy Hyslop created this expression as a warming, luxurious blend that evokes the aromas and flavours traditionally associated with Christmas.
Unlike standard Ballantine’s expressions, this reserve offers a spiced and indulgent profile, making it perfect for holiday gatherings or as a unique seasonal gift.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Sweet and inviting with aromas of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and Christmas cake. Hints of dried fruit, toffee, and subtle oak add warmth and complexity.
Palate: Rich and smooth with layers of creamy vanilla, sweet toffee, and festive spices. Notes of raisin, fig, and orange zest unfold alongside soft oak and honeyed malt.
Finish: Long and warming with a gentle spice that lingers, complemented by a touch of chocolate and dried fruit sweetness.
"Master blender Sandy Hyslop has deliberately attempted to capture Christmas in the glass, and so it should come as no surprise to find a rich, full, and flavorsome whisky with sherry trifle, red berries, orange fruit, and mince pie filling in the mix. It's put together with grace and style, mixes well, and is that rare beast — a blend that can be enjoyed on its own." - Dominic Roskrow, Whisky Advocate (88 Points)
