A Single Cask Distilled in 2005

Balvenie’s ‘A Collection of Curious Casks’ consists in a range of single cask releases within the Stories range. These casks hold a special place in The Balvenie story. Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie and Warehouse Co-Ordinator George Paterson, united by a keen eye for exceptional casks, have collaborated to create this remarkable collection. Years of friendship and George's unparalleled knowledge of Balvenie’s warehouses guide their selection, bringing forth whiskies brimming with rare potential.

These casks hold a special place in The Balvenie story. Originally part of David C. Stewart's experiment with French Pineau casks, they initially didn't meet his exacting standards. Yet, their journey continued. Left to mature for an additional eight years under Kelsey's watchful eye, they revealed a remarkable transformation. The result? A whisky showcasing the enduring influence of time and David's pioneering spirit.

Tasting Notes:

Intriguing layers of spice and rich sweetness layer on creamy vanilla and honey before revealing gentle oaky tannins.
