It was the realisation of a long-held dream when they acquired Benromach Distillery in 1993. Nose: Sweet Sherry aromas with underlying citrus, ginger and oak notes, accompanied by a touch of smoke. Taste: Sweet initially with cracked black pepper, Seville orange and raspberry flavours lead to baked apple and subtle spice. Finish: Charred oak and soft smoke.

This is the second release of the 40 Year Old annual batch, displayed in a striking black stained solid oak wooden box with copper- coloured detailing and printed metal plaques. It was matured in the finest sherry casks. Only 1,132 bottles released. Nose: Fragrant spices with Seville orange, stewed red berries and a hint of roasted hazelnut. Taste: Sweet Morello cherry, baked apple and rich dark chocolate. Finish: Full with forest fruits and mature oak.

It was matured for 8 years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and finished in first-fill sherry hogshead casks, before being bottled in 2023. Nose: Sweet vanilla and stewed fruit aromas. Taste: Citrus, summer berry, intense bonfire peat, vanilla and honey. Finish: Peat smoke and ginger.

It was matured for 8 years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels before being bottled in 2023, a wonderful fruity and smoky Single Malt. Nose: Very rich smoke with fragrant vanilla and light citrus zest. Hints of apples develop accompanied by white chocolate. Taste: Smooth with toasted oak, honey and sweet ripe fruit. Butterscotch and marshmallow flavours lead to a lemon sherbet all alongside sweet smoke. Finish: Mouth-coating sweetness and bonfire embers.

Passing once through the wash still and twice through the spirit still, it delivers a lighter and fruitier style. It was matured for 10 years in first-fill bourbon barrels before being bottled in 2022. Nose: Vibrant tropical fruits, leading to malt biscuit, rich vanilla pod and toasted oak. Taste: Ripe banana flavours combine with poached pear. Green apple develops alongside sweet honey. Finish: Medium-bodied and long with a citrus zest and hint of soft smoke.
