Blanton’s Gold Edition was created for discerning bourbon aficionados who appreciate exceptional smoothness and complexity in their bourbon whiskey. The nose is first marked by spicy rye and tobacco notes.  Caramel and honey follow soon after, mingled with dark fruit and citrus notes. The palate emulates the same complex nose with rye, tobacco, and honey at the forefront. Round and bold notes of charred oak and vanilla carry you through to an extremely long and harmonious finish. This bourbon consistently delivers on balance and character, on par with the world’s finest whiskey. Best served neat or with a splash of water. Bottled at 51.5% alcohol by volume.

Each bottle includes the barrel dump date on the label, making it highly sought after by collectors who hunt for bottles that align with personally significant dates like birthdays and anniversaries. The brand has become so collectible that bottles frequently appear in whiskey auctions at significantly inflated prices.

Each of the iconic horse and jockey stoppers shows a different stage of a race and is marked with a letter from the word “Blanton’s.” There are eight unique stoppers applied at random, making them highly collectible.

Blanton's was the world's first commercially available single-barrel bourbon when it launched in 1984, created by master distiller Elmer T. Lee as his parting gift to the industry. This revolutionary concept challenged the standard practice of blending multiple barrels and created the "super premium" bourbon category.

Tasting Notes:

Hints of spicy rye and tobacco on the nose, followed by caramel and honey, dark fruit and citrus notes.

The palate emulates the same complex aroma with rye, tobacco and honey.

Oak and vanilla contribute to an extremely long and harmonious finish.

"A slightly more “grown-up” version of Blanton’s Original Single Barrel that builds off of all the great qualities and then some, while unfortunately selling at a more grown-up price point." - Jordan Moskal, Breaking Bourbon

"This is absolutely a drink for experienced whiskey enjoyers, drinking it and simply digesting the complex swirl of sensations is a real treat, though I can imagine some who are less experienced may find this bourbon overwhelming. I do, however, believe this flavour to be a “timeless” one, which anyone could come back to at any point in the future and still relish just as much. It’s my hope that individuals too new to the artform who try Blanton’s Gold and find it to be too much for them try it again in a few years with a more refined palette, and finally fully understand this amazing dram." - Jade Cox, The Whiskey Wash (90 Points)

"This bourbon is unexpectedly gentle on the nose with aromas of cinnamon and ripe peach. The palate is wonderfully rich and honeyed with layers of vanilla and toffee. The heat builds gradually; it’s almost nonexistent at first and then cascades into a long and slightly drying finish with hints of black tea. For only 5% higher alcohol, the results are surprising. This is far better than Blanton’s Original in almost every way." - Drew Beard, Drinkhacker (90 Points)

"Right off the bat you get big oak, pencil shavings, tobacco, resin and sawdust. Woody Woodpecker would kill for this much wood so keep your eyes peeled for that feathered fowl. The nose develops into orchard fruits such as cherries. Vanilla, milk chocolate, honey, dried fruits and loads of pepper swirl in the mouth. Dry rye grass spices up the finish where these spices take forever to sizzle away." - Blair Phillips, Distiller (93 Points)
