Named after the 'Araig River' in Scots Gaelic, this luscious and velvety dram draws inspiration from the waters of Islay. Crafted to commemorate Fèis Ìle 2022, this whisky undergoes maturation in ex-Bourbon and PX sherry octave casks, resulting in an unpeated, sherried, bold, and intricately layered expression.

Abhainn Araig is a harmonious blend of Bunnahabhain spirit aged in ex-Bourbon casks and ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry octave casks, meticulously crafted from the finest specially seasoned European oak.

The hand-selected, highly concentrated Octave casks used in the process are chosen to push the boundaries of sherry maturation. Bunnahabhain's resilience shines through, as not all whiskies can endure full maturation in sherry casks, especially those specially seasoned in octaves.

This exclusive festival whisky, bottled at a natural color and a non-chillfiltered 50.8% ABV, encapsulates the essence of 'Bunnahabhain'—unpeated, sherried, bold, and complex.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Inviting aromas of chocolate, powdered ginger, and a hint of cigar box.

Taste: The palate reveals a velvety richness, opening with creamy milk chocolate and evolving into the sweetness of raisins and dried raspberries. As the Pedro Ximenez influence unfolds, notes of balsamic vinegar and honeyed macadamias emerge.

Finish: The finish is deep and indulgent, featuring dark toffee and a final spicy burst of cinnamon, rounding off this exceptional and limited-edition whisky experience.
