Bushmills presents its 4th edition of The Causeway Collection designed and created by the famous Alex Thomas in homage to the Irish Giant's Causeway.
Following the success of its first 3 editions, Bushmills presents a new limited edition aged and refined in exceptional barrels. This cask strength, non-chill-filtered Irish Single Malt was first aged in Oloroso Sherry and Bourbon barrels for 6 years.
Subsequently, Master Blender Alex Thomas finished this remarkable whiskey for 4 years in precious barrels that contained sweet Sauternes wine, coming from the famous Graves region near Bordeaux. These rare wine barrels impart a deliciously creamy and intense fruit flavour from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle grapes.
This sensational whiskey ranks among the best Irish Single Malts, a giant in its own right.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Amber gold.
Nose: Ripe fruit with a note of creamy coconut and butterscotch, intertwined with a sweet citrus note.
Palate: Intensely honeyed apricot, enhanced with notes of ginger, with a sweetness of vanilla and honeysuckle followed by ripe peaches, mango and apple.
Finish: Sweet tropical fruits linger in a warm toffee sweetness.
