Reviews:
"The answer is simple yes it's absolutely worthy of being in the Buffalo Trace antique collection." - Whiskey Bank
"The inaugural Antique Collection release of E.H. Taylor Bottled-In-Bond Bourbon is an expertly balanced, 15 year old expression that stays true to the E.H. Taylor brand's core attributes of drinkability and precision." - Eric Hasman, Breaking Bourbon (Very Good)
"This is absolutely delicious and probably the most dangerous BTAC bottle I’ve had so far. The lower proof point makes this extremely crushable compared to GTS and WLW, and despite not having the heavier mouthfeel that other BTAC bottles bring on I still find a good deal of complexity in here. The sweetness is the star of the show and I really enjoy the wide variety of notes from that spectrum that come through here. The brown sugar, vanilla frosting, maple syrup, and Luxardo cherry bring on a deeper, decadent sweetness while the stewed apple and raspberry lighten things up a bit. The cinnamon spice is strong and helps cut through the menagerie of sweetness well, and the barrel character from the seasoned oak and light leather add some great structure to each sip. While this doesn’t have the “it” factor that some of the other BTAC’s I’ve tried have showed to really make it a true unicorn, this is still worthy of the BTAC title for me. There is a wonderful depth of flavor in each sip that makes me want to dive deeper on each subsequent sip, and it is also so ridiculously crushable that I could probably drain half of this bottle in one sitting if I didn’t stop myself." - /r/bourbon (user: Prettayyorettaygood)
"As a debut, it is impressive. The classic Taylor profile remains intact with caramel, butterscotch, and a gentle spice, but there is a layered complexity that lifts it beyond the standard releases. The oak influence is pronounced but measured. It feels like a thoughtful addition to BTAC rather than a headline for the sake of it." - Beth Squires, The Whiskey Wash
"This is an eye-opening whiskey. While many bourbon fans were initially disappointed to discover that this bourbon would only be 100-proof, those concerns have proven to be unwarranted. At 50% ABV, E.H. Taylor Bottled-In-Bond Bourbon is perfectly proofed, flavorful, and balanced in a way that’s evocative of vintage whiskey from the golden age... Buffalo Trace came out swinging with the first edition of this one, and it fits right in with the rest of the premium collection." - Frank Dobbins III, Uproxx
"What a way to enter the chat! This EH Taylor showed up and showed out. It has that signature Buffalo Trace cherry on the nose and a wonderful mouthfeel that's full for 100 proof. It's not too light, and not too thick. Upfront on the palate you get a spice in the graham/ginger family that transitions into the traditional high-corn bourbon sweetness Buffalo Trace is known for. The finish lingers and those rye spices come back at the end. That finish is fantastic. With water, the entire sip is even better. It's wonderfully balanced, encapsulating everything you believe a traditional Kentucky bourbon should stand for. It's not as complex as the Stagg, but if 100-110 proof is your go-to range, you will adore this bottle. It's an elevated version of EH Taylor Small Batch, and the additional aging shows how great this mash bill can be when aged for 15 years. Give Harlen Wheatley his props. He innovates. The only question is, can he and his team do it again next year. " - Orlando, Taste Select Repeat
