This rare bourbon ages in oak barrels for nearly two decades and is only available in small quantities once a year, every fall. Sip this polished, well-aged whiskey to appreciate why patience is such a virtue.
The fragrant aroma has almost a wine-like character with hints of almond, cigar boxes and cinnamon. The delicate and dry mid-palate tastes of leather, vanilla and tobacco. This bourbon lingers, finishing with hint of leather and toffee.
Age: 17 years 5 months old at bottling.
Proof: 101 proof (50.5% ABV)
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Hint of tobacco and chocolate covered cherries with a touch of oak.
Palate: Caramel, vanilla bean, dark chocolate, and oak.
Finish: Full-bodied finish with baking spice, vanilla and butterscotch.
Batch Specific Reviews:
"It remains the only bottle in the Antique Collection that comes close to a more traditional classic bourbon flavor profile due in part to its manageable 101 proof and rye as the secondary grain in the mashbill." - Jordan Moskal, Breaking Bourbon
"Compared to Eagle Rare it’s much darker, oak and brown sugar forward. That said the prevailing note is an extra ripe, juicy cherry." - District Drams
