Ode to the Dark is the richest expression within The Master's Anthology: a collection of fine single malts from The Glendronach, where our Master Blender invites you to experience the breadth and depth of sherry cask maturation. Each expression pursues the exceptional in character and taste, composed to celebrate different aspects of our rich and rewarding Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Matured in exceptional Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and bottled at 50.8% ABV, this sumptuous expression of The Glendronach elevates richness to a sublime apex, with layers of flavour coming together to create a work of indulgence.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Black garnet.
Nose: A symphony of mocha, black cherry and dark chocolate precede créme brûlée with raisin, brown sugar and ginger.
Palate: Velvet layers of smooth espresso and crème caramel fold into black grape and mint chocolate ganache.

"Notes of dark chocolate and prunes mix with the salty-smoky-yeasty aromas of salted baked pretzels from a push cart. The flavor is slightly gamey (like smoked meat), heightened by notes of milk chocolate, salted toffee, graham crackers, and tart berry jam.
