Producer Background:

Tolpuddle Vineyard benefits from a cool climate and meticulous vineyard management, ensuring slow, even ripening and concentrated flavor development. The winemaking approach employs minimal intervention, with hand-harvested fruit, a mix of whole berries and whole bunches fermentation in open fermenters, and aging in French oak barrels—about one-third new—to enhance complexity while maintaining elegance.

Flavour Profile:

  • Appearance: Bright, medium ruby with a translucent quality
  • Nose: An aromatic melange of dark cherry, red berry, and raspberry, layered with hints of aniseed, pepper, and exotic spice. Subtle smoky and floral nuances emerge with aeration.
  • Palate: Sinuous and textured with a core of concentrated dark fruit. Fine, integrated tannins provide structure and grip, balanced by seamless acidity. Notes of wild strawberry, chinotto, roasted almond, and garrigue herbs add complexity. The wine’s opulence is tempered by a fresh, mineral-driven finish that invites contemplation and aging potential.

Food Pairings:
Enjoy the Tolpuddle Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024 with:

  • Roasted or grilled poultry, such as duck or pheasant, to complement its spice and fruit nuances
  • Earthy dishes like mushroom risotto or truffle-infused pasta

  • Lightly spiced Asian dishes or grilled vegetables for a contrasting harmony

Cellaring and Serving:

  • Serve at 16–18°C to fully unlock its aromatic and textural layers.
  • With careful cellaring, the wine will develop further complexity over 8–12 years, revealing tertiary notes of spice, earth, and forest floor, rewarding patient collectors.
