Producer Background: Small Island Wines, founded by Tasmanian-born James Broinowski, is renowned for its dedication to high-quality winemaking. After completing his bachelor of viticulture and oenology at the University of Adelaide in 2013, James launched his wine venture through a successful crowdfunding campaign. Small Island Wines quickly garnered acclaim, with early releases winning gold medals at prestigious wine shows. The 2023 Shiraz continues this legacy, showcasing the unique terroir of Tasmania's finest vineyards.

Flavour Profile: The Small Island Shiraz 2023 is a complex and captivating wine, offering a rich tapestry of black forest fruits, cherries, and plums, seamlessly intertwined with the freshness of crushed herbs. The wine's oak backbone provides a robust structure, enhancing its overall depth and character. Despite a cool year, the long ripening period allowed for exceptional flavor development, resulting in a wine that is both elegant and powerful.

Food Pairings: This versatile Shiraz pairs perfectly with hearty dishes, making it an excellent choice for cooler nights. Enjoy it alongside grilled lamb chops, beef stew, or a savory mushroom and herb risotto. Its complex flavor profile also complements a selection of aged cheeses and charcuterie, adding a touch of sophistication to any meal or gathering.
