Our fifth annual special release is here - Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled 2022 Special Release American Single Malt Whiskey finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks. This year’s special release celebrates a brand new grain bill from the Jack Daniel Distillery - 100% malted barley. This is a one-of-a-kind experience crafted from the highest quality malted barley, charcoal mellowed, and twice barreled for a complex taste.
This special release is first aged in brand new, American white oak barrels and then finished in the finest Oloroso sherry casks and bottled in its truest form, straight from the cask, with the proof ranging from 106.1-107.8.
Tasting Notes:
This chestnut-colored drink has a sweet aroma of brown sugar, fruity notes, and a hint of vanilla and plum. Its palate boasts a blend of sweet vanilla, plum, dark chocolate, and oak. The finish is a delightful mix of spices, pepper, clove, dark chocolate, and sweet fruit.
"Upon first nosing, the whiskey shows berries, caramel, and smoked vanilla. Moving on to the taste, you get a peppery bite and a chewy, oily taste profile and more of the flavors found on the nose. Despite the higher proof, it's not too hot/difficult to drink. But with added water, the whiskey shows a greater depth with more intense caramel and chocolate malt notes so adding at least a few drops of water is recommended. This is a limited edition release from Jack Daniel's, but we hope it's the first of many more American single malt whiskeys to come." - Stephanie Moreno, Distiller
