What the Experts Say
If you break it down, if you do a Barossa Valley range of wines and make it approachable, upfront drinkable, and it allows us to tell the Jacobs Creek historical story, then we’re doing our job”, says new chief winemaker Ben Bryant.
It’s 60% shiraz and 40% cabernet sauvignon. More consideration than you’d think to get this to bottle. The southern end of Barossa shiraz for some ‘grunt’, higher Eden cabernet sauvignon for structure – detail in the wine, a variety of vineyards making up the flesh.
Spicy, red and blackberry fruits, whiff of nougat, leafiness and faint eucalyptus smells. It’s nice. Has a juicy, fleshy texture, ripe berry fruit, crisp tannins, brisk acidity, all meshed well and tightens the wine to a refreshing point. Actually a touch of class here. Good drinking.

A premium, full-bodied blend in the traditional Australian style that captures the true character of the Barossa with its generous palate and smooth style.
Showcasing rich dark fruits and spices from both varietals with hints of cedar oak and smooth tannins towards finishing.
About the Winery
In 1847, along the banks of Jacob’s Creek, Johann Gramp planted his first vineyard. His vision was to create great tasting wines that reflect the true character of the grapes and the land.
