Our Jeptha Creed Bottled In Bond Bourbon made with our Bloody Butcher Corn, the finest malted rye and malted barley.
Tasting Notes:
Sight: Translucent brown citrine.
Nose: Sweet orange creme brulee, followed by bold baking spices, and dried cranberries.
Palate: Light caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and lemongrass with undertones of sweet oak.
Finish: Long smooth buttery finish with whispers of ginger and cinnamon that dance across your tongue.
"Fragrant scents of fresh-baked rye bread, lavender, a hint of dried mango, and inviting hints of charred rye seed. On the palate, it's quite bitter, but very idiosyncratic and intriguing. It's quite spicy and hot, so water or ice complements it well. Good length on the finish, with some of the floral notes returning. Lots of great spice, and unquestionably an interesting and intriguing journey." - David Fleming, Whisky Advocate (88 Points)
"The surprise of this bourbon is the earthiness of it. That is a note that runs through the entire experience, but is always just a note and not an especially strong one at that. I pin this to the Bloody Butcher corn, seeing as how that is noted for its nutty flavor when used in bread. Heretofore, my reaction to Bloody Butcher bourbons has been “meh,” because while I could pick up on the difference in flavor to a similar whiskey made with yellow dent corn, it was nothing to merit the hype. This bourbon, on the other hand, has the maturity to finally showcase what was promised." - Richard Thomas, Whiskey Reviewer (B+)
