Maker's Mark's Oldest Ever Bourbon
This 2024 release blends 15% 12 year-old and 85% 13 year-old barrels making this expression the oldest bourbon released by the brand to date.
It starts off as every bottle of Maker's Mark® does in our traditional warehouse before spending years in our LEED-certified, temperature controlled limestone cellar for a further aging. This is where Cellar Aged develops a deeper, richer, and even more complex flavor.
Aging our whisky for over 10 years wasn't something we ever did. Not because we didn't believe in it but because we hadn't found our way of doing it. Maker’s Mark® Cellar Aged defines an older whisky that’s distinctly Maker’s. By embracing both the unique impact that our warehouse and cellar maturation have on flavor, we've created an older expression that is richer and more complex whilst staying true to the founder's taste vision of bourbon without the bite.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: Dark stone fruit, caramelized sugar, toasted oak.
Taste: Balanced with big oak, dark vanilla and fruit.
Finish: Velvety texture, long and complex with caramelized barrel notes and baking spices.
"Maker’s Mark set a high bar with 2023’s Cellar Aged release. I’m impressed with this latest version, which eclipses its predecessor by just a hair." - David Thomas Tao, Vinepair (96 Points)
"A very different whiskey than the 2023 - and better." - Christopher Null, Drinkhacker (95 Points)
"A lovely release from Maker’s that demonstrates the Maker’s take on extra aged whiskey, and I love it." - Bottle Raiders (92 Points)
"When you compare this 2024 version to the 2023, the inaugural release is lighter and more fruit forward while the 2024 version (with only an extra year of aging), really brings a much darker, oakier profile to the table. If you’ve ever wondered what an older, more oak forward Maker’s Mark would taste like, then this 2024 Cellar Aged is for you." - Chris Ellis, The Whisky Study (93 Points)
