Negroni: There are many stories about who created the first Negroni. We like to believe it originated in Florence, Italy in 1919 when Count Camillo Negroni asked for a stronger version of his favourite cocktail – the Americano (Campari, Red Vermouth and soda water). The bartender replaced the traditional soda for gin, and the world-famous aperitif was born. The definition of sophistication and simplicity – the Negroni is a tonic for those who would rather be sitting in a local bar during what the Italians refer to as ‘aperitivo hour’.
Serving Suggestions: Serve Dr Onyx Negroni swirled, not shaken in a short glass over ice. Traditionally garnished with a slice of orange or the preferred blood orange adding a more dramatic fragrance, and a sweet and tart flavour.
