This Nikka Yoichi peaty & salty bottling can only be found at the Yoichi distillery in Hokkaido, sold as a rare, distillery exclusive.

Bursting with peat and oak, the depth of this expression is described on the label, as clear as can be. The traditional Yoichi character is enhanced here, bring an experience rivalling the whiskies of Islay.

One of three in the distillery key malt series. A single malt from the Yoichi distillery is a component of the complete Yoichi Whisky.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Gold

Nose: Salty sweetness, salted popcorn, brine, salted caramel.

Taste: Salty chocolate caramels, chocolate covered potato chips, more chocolate, as well as some sea salt vanilla ice cream.

Finish: Medium, with salt for days. Some pipe tobacco and brine.

"Out of the distillery exclusive series, the Peaty & Salty brings forward the renowned Yoichi character the most. The nose, with notes of sweet oak, vanilla, and sugary, creamy scones prepares one for a sweet experience. Then the palate shocks with deep smoke, earth, and spice. An oily, licorice sweetness joins in, as flower blossoms materialize in the background. A dry, spicy, floral finish ensues." - George Koutsakis, Distller
