Redbreast 21 Years Old La Maison Du Whisky Collection Antipodes 2000 is a sherried version selected by La Maison du Whisky. First-fill Oloroso sherry butt #21285 was distilled in March 2000 and bottled in 2022 at 58.7%.

Laid down to mature in the Midleton Distillery, this cask represents a unique and singular nuanced expression of Redbreast. This Redbreast Oloroso Sherry single cask is a joy to behold in each and every bottle.

"I'm not sure it would be very smart to mention old-style Macallan. Oops, too late. ... Redbreast is always grand, even when heavily sherried." - Serge, Whisky Fun

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Orangey copper with glints of mahogany.

Nose: Sweet marzipan with ginger spice, red berry fruits and caramelised cereal undertones. Notes of mint chocolate with nutty liqueur aromas and Spanish wine influence add depth, complemented by the measured waves of toasted oak and captivating pot still spices.

Taste: Luscious and creamy at first, while the spices and soft wood tannins slowly build, adding subtle, earthy and worn leather notes. The toasted and nutty flavours of almond with dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans combine with the dark fruits and toasted wood, highlighting the complexity of this intricate whiskey.

Finish: The luscious and creamy texture softly fades, allowing the pot still spices to continue to build, hand in hand with the oloroso seasoned oak.
