Named after the fastest growing Redwood in the world, Emerald Giant is a fan favorite in the Rye world. We started with a mash-bill of 95% premium rye and aged it for over 3 years in new charred oak barrels. Spicy with an exceptionally smooth finish, it is a great choice in your classic whiskey cocktails.

Down a winding trail and along a meandering creek in the Redwood National Park rises the massive trunk of Emerald Giant. Yawning high above at over 360 feet, this August Sequoia is the fastest growing Redwood in the world, gaining over 50 cubic feet and more than 1500 pounds of mass each year.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Burnt Orange.

Nose: Natural rye aroma followed by a mix of brown sugar and cinnamon with a faint hint of pepper.

Palate: Unparalleled spice complexity with smooth rye notes. a hint of honey and orange peel becomes peppery with a lingering cinnamon finish.

"Aromas of fresh grain, red berries, dried cherries, and fresh-cut lemon, overall a very fresh and lively nose that is beautifully fragrant and redolent of fresh morning fields. The palate is equally fresh, with balanced notes of red fruit, iced tea, and vanilla. The finish is quite long, with more vanilla, and lemon sorbet, balanced by savory espresso. A smooth but complex rye with depth and lively flavors, but easy to savor." - David Fleming, Whisky Advocate (92 Points)
