Launched in 2013 by Pierrette Trichet, the goal was to showcase each cellar's individual characteristics, and to highlight the specific aromatic notes provided by their unique atmosphere. This particular XO is a Fine Champagne blend, bringing together the finest parts of the Petite and Grande Champagne terroirs.
Cellar No 28 is a particularly special one, as it stores some of the oldest casks on the estate, is positioned deep underground for optimum aging conditions and provides plenty of humidity and the perfect maturation temperature. The resulting Cognac is silky, smooth with intense notes of candied fruits. Each eaux-de-vie has been carefully selected for its flavor profile, ensuring they present the same aromas and taste to provide the perfect match. This selection results in a richer and more defined drinking experience for the Cognac connoisseur lucky enough to enjoy its harmonious blend.
Tasting Notes:
Color: Bright burning gold.
Nose: Rich with candied fruits, notes of plum, raisins and hazelnut, lifted by honey.
Palate: Velvety texture, opulent offering a mellow mouthfeel and soft yet lengthy finish. A complex finish of candied fruits.
