Alcohol Policy

Buyers must be at least 18 years old and located outside a designated dry zone to purchase alcohol.

Gran Reserva 15 is the embodiment of our founders’ dreams: to create a rum with a taste so good that it bypassed the trends. It is lived up to their expectations — throughout Matusalem’s 150 years. Gran Reserva 15 remained our flagship rum, the original, the iconic. A legacy handed down from one generation to another.

Ron Matusalem is still produced with the aging technique called Solera, originally used in the making of Sherry wines and Brandy. Masterfully undertaking the choice of the best woods and blends, this process has brought perfection to the exclusive Matusalem rums right up to the present day.

Gran Reserva 15 was born in Cuba, where it became an icon of the Cuban Golden Age. And when you pour yourself a glass, you will be transported to a time of vibrance, joy, and culture.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Mahogany color with amber and golden tones.

Aroma: Intense spices like vanilla and cloves with notes of caramel, honey, and toasted wood.

Palate: Intense and persistent, slightly spicy with hints of wood, coffee, and caramel.

"The aromas are beguiling ones of caramel, vanilla and woody campfire spiked with a touch of malt. There's still some piquant (though not quite burning) heat on the palate coupled to a suggestion of almond/cherry pit, and the body comes across as ample but light enough on its feet to sip alone or in cocktail form. Vanilla and a whiff of wood dominate the medium finish." - Ron Bechtol, Distiller (86 Points)
