Shochu

Delicious and versatile, shōchū is a popular distilled beverage in Japan. It is typically made from rice, barley, sweet potatoes, buckwheat, or brown sugar, though it can also be made from other ingredients such as chestnuts, sesame seeds, potatoes, or carrots.

Shōchū usually has 25% alcohol by volume, which makes it weaker than baijiu, whiskey, or vodka but stronger than huangjiu, sake, or wine. Multiply distilled shōchū can have up to 35% alcohol by volume and is often used in mixed drinks. Shochu is perfect for mixing into cocktails or enjoying on its own. It's an essential part of any home bar and makes a great gift for any occasion.

Whether you enjoy it neat or on the rocks, shōchū is a delicious and refreshing way to enjoy a drink.
