Inaugural 2025 Release

This is the first-ever American wheat whisky from the Maker's Mark distillery.

Star Hill Farm Whisky aims to capture as much flavour from grain to glass, by honouring the flavour and processes of nature.

The 2025 release marries two mashbills - one using 70% soft red winter wheat and 30% malted barley, and the other 100% malted soft red winter wheat.

By respecting regenerative agriculture practices and careful blending and aging, we amplify the grain's unique flavor.

We’re proud that Star Hill Farm Whisky represents the first liquid in our portfolio to be awarded an Estate Whiskey Certification through the Estate Whiskey Alliance®. This prestigious achievement demonstrates our commitment to sustainable production methods and local sourcing efforts.

Tasting Notes:

Aroma: Rich and pleasant with notes of buttery caramel, golden raisins, and gingerbread.

Taste: Soft and bright with notes of honeyed toffee, chocolate covered cherries and apple pie spice.

Finish: Approachable and enveloping with notes of toasted pecans and soft cinnamon.

"A very nice endeavor by Maker’s! Sweet, floral, rich and nuanced. There’s a bitter, tannic side to the pour that works in tandem with the sweetness to spectacular effect at times but at other moments takes a bit too much focus off the sweet, rich notes. The tannic profile adds some complexity; I just wish it were dialed down a notch or two — minor complaint about an altogether spectacular whiskey. Make no mistake: Maker’s Mark’s first wheat whiskey is a roaring success." - The Daily Pour (92 Points)

"The palate doesn’t surprise: It’s sweet, with brown sugar, then maple syrup becoming dominant. Again it’s quite toasty — like well-grilled wheat bread, not barrel char — which pairs well with the syrup quality to create a Sunday morning breakfast character. Pancakes are not out of the question here." - Christopher Null, Drinkhacker (90 Points)

"Star Hill Farm Whisky is a bold and adventurous new offering from Maker's Mark that, despite an astringent oak finish, presents an exciting and flavorful sip, marking a significant shift for the distillery." - Eric Hasman, Breaking Bourbon (Well Above Average)

"In transparency I’m a fan of Maker’s Mark but this is not like any Maker’s you’ve likely had before. I came into this glass thinking “it’s just high proof Maker’s.” It is not. It is a totally new whiskey profile and that threw me. This is a welcome and stellar new offering from a storied brand." - Charles Steele, The Whiskey Wash (90 Points)
