We ship with Australia Post using their dedicated wine post service. All parcels are trackable and in most cases arrive in 2-3 days for east coast metro areas.
All orders will need to be signed for by someone over the age of 18 and can not be left unattended.
If no one is home your order will be sent to the nearest post office for collection.

Our Notes
A hearty but balanced Victorian Sangiovese inspired by Italian traditions. Sangiovese, most famously used in Chianti, is a relative newcomer to Australia but proving incredibly suited to Australian conditions. As with any wine of this type, we strongly recommend serving this with food to let it really shine - stewed tomato sauces, garlic & hearty herbs like basil & thyme would all sit perfectly.
Winemakers Comments
Lifted mulberry characters with dusty earth and spice with fine tannins, crunchy acidity and a hint of spice. It’s a red wine made for food.
Sangiovese is a thin-skinned variety like Nebbiolo, known for its herbal & spice notes more than its fruity notes. It has an attractive mid red colour and is characterised by high levels of tannin, well balanced by acid. It is suited to well drained soils with abundant sunlight, both of which the Heathcote vineyard provides.
About the Winery
No relation to the similarly-named hard rock group - Tar & Roses was named for two characteristic aromas of Nebbiolo, the operation's first varietal and a specialty to this day. The winery's Axl & Slash, as it were, were Don Lewis and Narelle King, and while Don Lewis is no longer with us Narelle King remains the head winemaker to this day.
The focus is on Mediterranean varietals, and both founders began their winemaking journeys in sunny Priorat in Catalonia before bringing this what they'd learnt back to Australia. Tar & Roses wines are distinctly varietal and made exclusively from Central Victorian grapes.
