2025 Release

At Springbank we are not just known for our Single Malts, we also have Blended Malts like our award-winning Campbeltown Loch.

All five malts (Springbank, Longrow, Hazelburn, Kilkerran and Glen Scotia) from the region’s three distilleries have been used to produce this Blended Malt. Matured in a combination of Ex-Bourbon and Ex-Sherry casks, vatted and bottled at Springbank Distillery, Campbeltown.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: A distinct buttery note and characteristic hint of sea salt introduce this dram, along with notes of ginger loaf and pecan pie.

Palate: Creamy coffee, salted caramel, date syrup and crystallised brown sugar on the palate, with a subtle hint of peat smoke.

Finish: The peat smoke builds in the finish, with a leathery note developing over time.

"After this review of Campbeltown Loch, I am convinced this is the best entry-level example of Campbeltown. Instead of chasing Springbank 10 or Kilkerran 12 (easier to find in some markets), I would suggest new drinkers buy a bottle of Campbeltown Loch as a first approach to the Campbeltown character." - Alberto C., Road to Dram

"Can't recommend this one enough - this is a great whisky. In the category of non-age-stated blended whiskies, we haven't had much that compares to this, and the 46% bottling strength is enough to convey tons of layers and complexity. A fantastic batch - industrial funk and tropical fruits galore." - Me My Wife & Whisky

"A very solid daily drinker. Given that four of the five constituents are from the Springbank-Glengyle family, it’s no surprise that this is solidly in that Springbank-Longrow-Kilkerran peat continuum. I would guess there are some sherry casks in the mix" - My Annoying Opinions

"I know this consists of all Campbeltown malts, but it's also reminiscent of Benromach. Coming from me, that's a big compliment. Having said that, the Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt has an undeniable Campbeltown DNA. Or I should say, J&A Mitchell DNA. Oh, and did I mention what great value this is?" - Thijs Klaverstijn, Words of Whisky (88 Points)

"A fully naked Campbeltowner, undisguised and maskless. Very cool proposition, and certainly a true 'regional malt'." - Serge, Whisky Fun

"I initially thought of this as a gateway to Campbeltown, but it’s better than that. It may lack the nuance of an age-stated Springbank or Glen Scotia, but as a showcase of the region’s dirtier, more industrial side, it really delivers. Going further, I’d say it carves out its own identity with that distinctive maritime note so evident to both nose and palate. Being readily available at, or close to the £42 RRP, such deliciousness represents terrific value for money." - /r/Scotch (user: Gerbil007)

"A soloist among the blended scotch choir, Campbeltown Loch is an interesting change of pace from other well known blends and comes for a price that makes it a no brainer, everyday malt-for-the-common-man." - One Man's Malt

"This one is clearly different. J&A Mitchell own both Springbank and Glengyle, the other two Campbeltown distilleries, and so they have a lot more control over what whisky they can access for this blended malt. I’ve heard it said that a large amount of what’s in this comes from Glengyle, though nothing is confirmed from the producer. Not to ding on Glen Scotia, but the result here blows the other blended malts out of the water: it’s full of great bass notes in the form of dunnage-y earthiness, dead leaves, and metal shavings. I wouldn’t call it complex, but I just love it; this is the essence of everything I love about Campbeltown in a very easy and accessible shape. It may be the value find of the year—I know, I’m a few years late, but whatever. I’m so happy to have discovered this whisky, and pretty quickly went out to get another one." - Dustbunna, Malt Runners

"There’s more complexity here than you might expect for a NAS malt, and it’s quite tasty. Honestly, we’d be surprised if this doesn’t win the Best Blended Malt award." - Two Whisky Bros
