2025 Release
119.5 Proof / 59.75% ABV

Batch Proof is a celebration of Woodford Reserve’s proprietary process – blending barrels into a batch and then bottling the whiskey at its actual proof, straight from the barrel. Batch Proof is crafted using the same grain bill and process as Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon.

Batch Proof, however, takes Woodford Reserve’s trademark flavor range of sweet vanilla and toasted oak to a whole new level offering consumers the privilege of tasting Woodford Reserve in its purest form (and not the standard 90.4 for which Woodford is known).

Batch Specific Reviews:

"Ample tannin kicks off the palate, which comes across as immediately austere and surprisingly dense and hot. The “low” 119.5 proof is misleading, of course: This is almost 60% alcohol and it shows. Time in glass helps the whiskey develop its flavors more fully, which are led by a surprising amount of dark, pruny fruit and chocolate notes. Secondary flavors of orange peel — or chocolate-covered orange slices — add a light citrus element, while menthol builds on the midpalate as it crests into the finish." - Christopher Null, Drinkhacker (90 Points)

"Carrying an increase in price over last year’s release, this Woodford Reserve Batch Proof edition delivers a sip that aims to please the masses." - Jordan Moskal, Breaking Bourbon (Well Above Average)

"While Woodford Reserve Batch Proof 119.5 doesn’t rank among the punchiest or most complex bourbons I’ve sampled recently, it accomplishes its task well: highlighting the brand’s distillate in a high-proof blend with both balance and lingering flavor. Especially on the nose, I’m not sure infrequent Woodford drinkers would immediately identify it with the distillery; as such, it could be an especially good gateway to turn folks onto the brand and expand perceptions a bit. I appreciate that McCall and her team are prioritizing quality over simply creating a “hotter” version of Woodford Reserve’s normal offering. At the end of the day, tasty whiskey is what tends to win hearts and minds." - David Thomas Tao, VinePair (93 Points)

"The nose is like white chocolate chip banana nut bread with dried cherries. The medium weight palate is sweet and fruity, with particular flavors of cherry vanilla-almond, lemon, and a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg. A whiff of charred oak plays into the finish, which is otherwise fruity, spicy, and light." - Amanda Schuster, Distiller (91 Points)

"A mouth-watering medley of fruit, sweet, and spice emerge on the nose, with tendrils of cherry cola, Gala apple, cinnamon stick, raspberry Linzer cookie, and cotton candy floating out of the glass. Spice is all-encompassing on the palate, which is hot, but not too much so—a feat given the high-strength ABV. More bright berry notes appear, balanced nicely by dark-roast drip coffee, barrel char, wood spice, rooibos tea, and coffee cake. The finish sees more of that spiced cinnamon coffee cake and some cherry, and while it has some teeth to it, it never bites." - Julia Higgins, Whisky Advocate (92 Points)
