Vindana Wines is a boutique, family-owned producer in the southern Barossa Valley, vignerons for over 170 years and seven (7) generations dating back to 1846 when the family first settled on the banks of Jacobs Creek, Rowland Flat. Our wines are crafted with thought using sustainable and traditional low-intervention practices. 2015 Limited release single vineyard Shiraz is big, concentrated and full-bodied with great length and intensity of fruit purity, ripe blackberry aroma complexed by nuance layers of rich spice and tar integrated with a premium oak and firm tannin structure.
Handcrafted with traditional winemaking in small batches that include gravity flow transfers, open-top fermenters, 30% whole bunch inclusion, balance lightly destemmed then patiently inoculated with wild yeast for fermentation and extended maceration of over 12 days on skins. Gentle basket press then maturation in American & French Oak Hogsheads to facilitate a natural clarifying process resulting with no fining or filtering required and ultimately preserve a depth in flavour.
This is an authentic handcrafted labour of love that encapsulates everything this variety should from an icon region. Wine is drinking well upon release although will reward with further cellaring.
