The first Wynns blend (then named Cabernet Hermitage) was produced in 1969, allowing Wynns a long history with this traditional Australian-style blend. Merlot was included during the 80s and made it to the label in 1990. Malbec has also been included in small quantities in recent years, adding some vibrancy and plummy notes.
The “red-stripe” blend of four red varieties creates a versatile wine suited to many occasions. Soft fruit and judicious oak create a wine that is perfect for current drinking or medium-term cellaring.
